The South Africa Taekwon-Do Institutute (SATI) is a reactivation of the first Taekwon-Do organization founded in South Africa by Mr. Andrew Fall in 1976, and formally approved by the principle founder of Taekwon-Do, General Choi Hong-Hi, upon his first visit to South Africa in 1978. SATI is a non-profit martial art association, and functions as a national governing body and martial arts research institute. SATI is affiliated with the Martial Arts Authority of South Africa (MASA) and other relevant authorities both locally and internationally. SATI represents five of the nine provinces of South Africa, more than any other ITF-style Taekwon-Do organization in the Republic, and also has representation abroad. SATI schools teach ITF-style Taekwon-Do, augmented with self-defence techniques relevant to the South African context, based on sound scientific principles.
